Welcome to Nurture
Nurture was created to support families looking to embrace the Montessori approach in their homes and daily family life.
Nurture’s sessions are guided by long term friends Freja & Lizzie who are both Montessori trained Guides & Parents.
They collectively have over 20 years of experience in the Montessori Education Sector supporting children and their families from Birth through to Pre-teens.
Nurture offers weekly sessions and workshops with the aim of helping families raise independent children in ways that are natural, realistic and peaceful.
So What is Montessori?
Montessori parenting is an intentional parenting approach based on the principles laid out by Dr. Maria Montessori who was the first female Physician to graduate in Italy back in 1896.
Dr Maria Montessori developed her approach over many years of scientific research, the core pillars of her approach consists of respecting children’s individuality, practicing hands-on learning and encouraging independence and responsibility.
Nurture sessions are structured around Montessori's Triad of Learning principles:
The Child - Has the freedom to choose the activity they are drawn to.
The Adult - Prepares the environment having closely observed the child.
The Prepared Environment - Is set up by the adult and calls to the child.
"Follow the child but follow them as their leader"
